This Week's "Parker Moments."

Life with my sweet Parker is never dull. For most, he gives a sweet smile, and they are won over. Especially the "Grandmas." However, here he has a naughty side... a very naughty side! :) Here are some moments from this past week...

Parker climbed out of the bath tub, ran to his room, and rode his pony... completely nude, might I add.

Dad is to blame for this one... he lifted Parker up to get a toy... and Parker decided to climb right on in. All night it was his favorite place to play... not such a bad idea until you see the next pic...

Thats right... he was only 9 feet off the ground. But, it didn't bother him any... he was having a great old time! In fact, when Bryce managed to pull him out, be bawled and wanted back in.

I've been dreading this... Parker not only opens the pantry door... but climbs on things to reach what he wants. Of course, being the Mom, I thought I had out smarted him by placing all his treats higher... oh no, he just climbs on the shelves too.

So, if any of you feel like another child, this one is selling cheap this week! I love him to pieces, but he will, and is doing a fine job, of driving me mad... :)

After all that... she made it to Prom!

So, after the accident, one would think that Kaylie would want to come home, put her feet up, and take it easy... well, for those of you who know her... NOT A CHANCE! An hour after getting home from the hospital, she was in the shower, getting ready for her first Prom! Now, in her date's defense, he offered to come over, get take out, and watch movies... So Kaylie could rest. But, she had planning for this night... we had finally found the right dress, even one that was not 600 dollars! The right shoes, her nails were done... etc. No one could know the drama our household experienced over this event... ( I am NOT looking forward to her Wedding.) Bryce and I let her make the decision, and she went to Prom. Of course the Percocets helped her get through the night. :) However, for someone who walked into the house dirty, torn up, and scrapped, she turned out pretty nice. Ok, she looked Beautiful!

Luckily, most of the scraps are on the side of her face. The majority of the cuts are hidden by the dress. I promise.... 8 hours prior to this picture she was fighting with a 4-wheeler, who happened to win that fight.
All a long she wanted a lime green dress... but taking after her dear, sweet, "other" mom, she chose Red. Good Girl! Oh, Her finger is broken. Hence the white tape...

Kaylie and her date, Levi. They are "just friends." However Bryce and I were so impressed with how he treated her that day. He brought flowers by the house, kept re-assuring her she did not have to go to Prom... In the end, they left and almost on time, and she made it home ten minutes to 2am, which was curfew. Despite being sore, she was glad she went. We keep telling her, Kaylie it may have not been the first dream date you had imagined, but at least you will never forget it!

Thank You For "Some What" Answered Prayers...

OK... what a weekend it was for us. On Saturday, May 3rd, Kaylie had her first date! It was Prom, and in true Utah fashion, her date had planned a "day activity." Their Prom group decided to go 4- Wheeling. Well at 10:30am that morning, Bryce got that call, the one that all parents dread... Kaylie had been in an accident and was being transported to a local hospital via ambulance. Of course, I got the next call, but with the stress, and my sweet husbands lack of medical experience, he could not answer any of my questions... so, in a matter of a few minutes we wondered if our life was about to be turned upside down. Well, after all the tests and a few hours in the Emergency Room, Kaylie came out a very lucky girl. Minus the scraps, bruises, a new bald spot, and sore muscles, she was ok. The 4-wheeler however... totaled. The story is she and her date were riding up hill. The hill got to steep and the 4- wheeler began to tip. Kaylie's date and Kaylie both jumped, she just was not quick enough... As she rolled down hill, the 4-wheeler caught her, and rolled over her. Hence we now have full body x-rays... pretty cool. :)

The things Kaylie was most upset about... the Paramedics cut off her favorite sweat shirt... but at least they let us bring it home. :)
And the bald spot in her hair. ( The picture really does not do it justice...)

For those of you who know Kaylie, you know that she is a good girl. After the excitement had died down she shared with us that she was a little concerned... Before she left on the 4-wheeler, she had a said a quick personal prayer that everything would be ok. Sitting there in the Emergency Room, bleeding, hurting, and scared, she wondered why God had not kept her safe or answered her prayer. Bryce simply told her, Kaylie you are lucky to be alive, that is your answer. As our family has had time to reflect on this event, and how lucky and blessed we all are that Kaylie walked away that day... we have been reminded once again that God does hear our prayers. I personally get frustrated when things don't go the way I had planned... discouraged that my prayers were not heard. BUT, how many times do I miss the little interventions, the small things that make my life better, because I am so concerned with the outcome. Yes, Kaylie got hurt that day, and its been a rough few days, but in the end, like Bryce has said, be grateful that the 4-wheeler rolled over your back, and not your head. Be grateful you can walk, talk, and are alive. I , as well as my family are blessed each day by our "somewhat answered" prayers. In the end, what happens is always in my best interest. I learn and I grow. And I hope that I always remember this day, and how fast life could be gone, and how precious it really is.

Girls Gymnastics Trip 2008

Go Utes! Before Bryce and I were married, I began attending the University of Utah Gymnastics meets with some friends of mine that I work with at Primary Children's. My friend, Jami, was a former gymnast, so she got me hooked... Needless to say 5 years and 5 Nationals later, our annual girl trip is a must. Lucky for us... the Ute gymnasts rock, so each year they make it to nationals and the super six. Despite their awesome performance, the last 4 years we have fell short to Georgia! Yuck! So, if you think about it next Spring... pray that the Georgia gymdogs fall off the beam one to many times... I thank you in advance for you efforts! :)

Hanging at the Meet... there is me, Jami, Briana, Laurie, and Wendy.

This is the only sport, and only time a year that I bleed red... the rest of the time its BYU all the way... my husband would disown me otherwise...
